Growth operations engagement
What building the growth engine for a clinical AI platform taught us about practitioner adoption
FunctionalMind AI needed more than a campaign. YellowHorns connected practitioner acquisition, one-to-one onboarding, product adoption, retention and churn recovery into one operating journey. This supported 50+ onboarding calls each month and gave growth, customer-success and retargeting work a shared direction.

Illustrative administrative workflow. Not clinical advice or a performance promise.
The situation
A clinical AI platform has two adoption problems at once. It must earn attention from practitioners, then help those practitioners understand where the product fits into a real workflow. Trial volume alone cannot show whether that education is working.
The engagement looked beyond campaign delivery and treated practitioner adoption as a lifecycle from first useful exposure through trial, activation and retention.
What we found
Retargeting could recover attention from people who had already encountered the product, but the message still needed to connect product capability to a practical professional use case.
The larger operating gap was the handoff after registration. Without a defined activation and retention journey, acquisition performance could be separated from the behaviour that made a trial meaningful.
What we built
YellowHorns mapped the full path from practitioner attention to registration, one-to-one onboarding, product adoption and continued use. The work gave growth and customer-success teams one view of where interest was leaking and who owned the next action.
That connected operation supported more than 50 one-to-one onboarding calls each month, created re-engagement paths for inactive users and tied retargeting work to the lifecycle moments that could produce lasting adoption, not vanity reach alone.
What changed
The engagement produced a measurable acquisition period and a clearer model for what needed to happen after registration. The numbers belong to that defined period and are not presented as a permanent benchmark or guaranteed result.
This work became part of the YellowHorns thesis: healthcare growth systems have to connect attention to the operational behaviour that creates lasting value.
What we would do differently
We would instrument activation events before the first retargeting impression. Acquisition and product data become far more useful when the team agrees in advance which actions distinguish curiosity from meaningful adoption.
